8th GRADE PARENT EVENT

The Administration and Staff of West Bloomfield High School would like to welcome the parents of the Class of 2017, as their students make the transition from middle school to high school. We are putting together an outstanding high school orientation program and we hope you will be able to join us for this educational evening.
Agenda for the Evening
6:30 Optional meeting in the WBHS media center for parents of students who may be interested in registering for AP Government, AP Music Theory or Honors Chemistry. In order to register for any of these classes, a parent must attend this meeting!
7:00 Parents meet with their student’s high school counselor at various points throughout the building.
7:45 Parents meet with WBHS Administrators and Curriculum Leaders in the Auditorium
Please note that we have a major athletic event occurring in the gym Wednesday evening as well. We will reserve parking for our eighth grade parents, however we ask that you do not arrive earlier than 6:15!
This evening is part of our overall eighth grade registration process. The Administrative Staff will be in the high school auditorium to provide information regarding graduation requirements for the Class of 2017.From 7:00 p.m. until 7:45 p.m., your student’s counselor will be available in an open forum setting to answer questions you may have about your child’s future high school career. Curriculum Department Heads will be on hand from 7:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. to explain their departmental programs. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to become aware of night grade course offerings as well as, a glimpse of the outstanding courses that student can look forward to participating in during their time at West Bloomfield High School. This presentation is intended for parents only, as their counselors have greeted the students at their respective schools earlier in the week.
High School counselors will be returning for their second visit next week. They will be meeting with the students in small groups to complete the process of scheduling for ninth grade classes. Counselors will return for schedule collection on: Tuesday, March 19 at Orchard Lake Middle School Thursday, March 21 at Abbott Middle School
