Lakers News · Sally Unrath Inducted into Lakers Coaches Hall of Fame

On Friday, February 15th, Sally Unrath, became the 7th member of the Lakers Coaches Hall of Fame.  Here is the write-up that was read while we were honoring Coach Unrath during halftime of the Boys Basketball game vs. Bloomfield Hills:

“Ladies and Gentleman, tonight we have a special honor to bestow upon a committed member of Laker Nation.  Sally Unrath has been a staple around West Bloomfield and the Poms program since moving to Michigan from Wisconsin.  She started her athletic career as a competitive collegiate gymnast at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  She then began coaching gymnastics along with cheerleading for 10 years in Wisconsin before she made her move.  She accepted a coaching position at WBHS two months after arriving in Michigan and has been here ever since.  She is now completing her 31st year of coaching Poms for the Lakers.  Sally, tonight we honor you and thank you for all of your dedication to our programs throughout the years.  With that being said, Sally Unrath will now become the 7th member of our West Bloomfield Lakers Coaches Hall of Fame.  Congratulations Sally and thank you for all you have done!”
