The Lakers had much to celebrate at the Homecoming dance after beating the Rochester Adams Highlanders 30-6.
The Lakers were led by standout running back Donovan Edwards who had over 250 all purpose yards and three touchdowns. Two of the touchdowns came on the ground and the other was a 67 yard touchdown reception. CJ Harris completed 80% of his passes and added an 80 yard run in the 3rd quarter. Chase Glover and Ethan Bunch had clutch receptions to extend drives.
Defensively, the Lakers shut down a powerful Highlander offense who came into the game averaging 35 ppg. The Lakers front seven was dominant and so were the defensive backs. Maxwell Hairston had two key pass breakups and Byran McCormick was able to chase down a long pass completion.
Jake Ward was 3/3 FGs and 3/3 PATs.
Sammy Lafata had one punt for 40 yards.
Next up for the Lakers will be a matchup against their rivals the Bloomfield Hills BlackHawks. Friday night will be senior night at the Swamp 7pm.
