The Boys Varsity Tennis had an up and down day on the courts, but battled hard all the way until the end. At the end of the day, the top end of the lineup held up, and the Lakers came away with their most impressive win on the season.

Leading the singles today were freshman Matt “Coco” Gordinier and senior Aryan Kamath. Both played the top singles spots and both came away with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Krishna Raghavan had the longest match on the day but came up a bit short 7-6, 2-6, 7-5 at 3 singles. Sam Carlin came up huge today at 4 singles. Sam came back from a 5-1 deficit to win 7-5 in the first set and finish it off with a 6-3 second set.

Doubles was also impressive on the day as Jacob Strome and Sahith Shankar volleyed their way to a 6-3, 6-2 win at 1 doubles. Equally impressive at the net today was Maheep “heep father” Singh and Ali Hakim At 3 doubles. Both Ali and Maheep had their best match of the year and came away with a 7-6, 6-2 win. 4 doubles of Aaryan Chandna and Daniel Littman had a bit of an ordeal to overcome after they lost the first set. However, they settled down and came back with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 triumph. Last but not least, the 6 doubles of Lukas Graff and Andrew Ingber came back from a 5-2 deficit to win 8-6 in their match.

Congrats to the Lakers team for a great home win. The boys are now 3-1 (2-0) on the season. The next match is this Thursday at home against North Farmington. The time is 4pm. Come out and support your Lakers!
