The Lakers defeated the Red Hawks in their district semi-finals on Wednesday night 3-1.
On offense, senior outside hitter Jenna Rogind led in kills with a total of 11. Rogind led in serve receive passes with a total of 14 and contributed a total of 18 digs. Rogind served up a total of 13 serves and had 2 aces. Senior outside hitter Sydney Moore contributed a total of 10 kills and had an outstanding defensive night, contributing a total of 21 digs. Moore also had a total of 13 serve receive passes, 10 successful serves, 1 ace, and 1 solo block. Junior right side hitter Bailey Sloney contributed a total of 5 kills, 1 solo block, and 2 digs. Junior middle hitter Delaney Lambert contributed a total of 5 kills, 2 solo blocks, and 6 digs. Senior middle hitter Dana Suchara contributed 1 kill, 1 solo block, 8 successful serves and 1 ace.
Sophomore setter Grace Allread had an outstanding performance on defense with a total of 18 digs. Allread also had 22 successful serves, 2 aces, 25 assists, and 1 kill.
On defense, Senior libero Lyndsey Cooper led in digs with a total of 25. This is the team high for the season, and Cooper’s high in digs in one match. Cooper also contributed 13 serve receive passes, a total of 5 out of system assists to the attackers, 2 kills, 15 successful serves, and 1 ace. Senior defensive specialist Kendall Jones contributed a total of 11 digs and a total of 9 serve receive passes with no errors. Jones also served up 9 aggressive serves and had 1 ace.
The Lakers advance to the district Finals on Friday, November 2 at Bloomfield Hills against Troy High School.
