The West Bloomfield Middle School Wrestling Team traveled to Lake Orion High School on Saturday, March 14th for the 2026 Middle School Wrestling Oakland County Championships (MSWOCC). With a dominant opening round, the Lakers jumped out to an early lead in the team standings. They continued to wrestle at a high level throughout the tournament, staying in first place the entire day. For the first time in the history of the MSWOCC tournament, WBMS took home FIRST PLACE with 336.5 points...95.5 points above the 2nd place team! Out of the 20 wrestlers that competed, 14 of them placed (most out of any team)! WB claimed 5 Champions (more than any other team), 5 Runner-Ups, 1 Third Place, and 3 Fourth Place! Our WB place winners include: 1st Place- Sebastian Morandini, Justin McKinney Jr., Nicholas Andric, Mason Williams, & Caelum Lopez 2nd Place- Joseph Goidosik, Becket Hitchcock, Brandon Smith, Aaron Threets, & Noah Ausi 3rd Place- Matthias Hitchcock 4th Place- Elijah Cannon, Major Lee, & Zaiden Dinkins Honorable Mention (.500 record or better)- Jaxon Booze, Roman Garcia, Jace Vining, & Korey Hall Over the past 5 years, WBMS has shown incredible progression in their final standings at the County Championships: 2022- 8th Place 2023- 7th Place 2024- 7th Place 2025- 2nd Place 2026- 1st Place Next up, the Lakers travel to Berkshire Middle School for their final dual meet of the season.
