The Lady Laker Varsity Tennis team made their debut this year against crosstown rivals North Farmington. This is the first win against the rival in 4 years. The score was 5-4. Making their debuts on Thursday were Sabrina Mathew, Emmaline Strange, Brooklynn Beatty, Laureen Zoma, Ellison Mack and Casey Forstner. It was a back and forth match but the doubles did receive some wins from 1 doubles of Sara Joyce and Delaney Brager 7-6, 6-3 and a 6-3, 6-2 win from 4 doubles of Matilda Edvardsson/ Manya Goldstein. The singles led the way to 3 wins. Ariella Ferguson got her first win at 1 singles with a default win. 3 singles of Bella Kuzminsky was entertaining as she went on to a 6-3, 6-2 win. The big match to clinch the day went to Ellena Tomaj who had a long grueling match at 2 singles. Ellena regrouped after the second set and won 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. The team is 1-0 (1-0) on the season and will play Oxford away on Monday.
