The West Bloomfield High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse team faced a tough test against L’Anse Creuse North High School, falling 11-2 in a hard-fought contest. Despite the final scoreline, the Lakers showed resilience throughout the matchup while competing shorthanded, missing six varsity players. Team captains Kyle Geiser and Alex Pomeroy accounted for both of West Bloomfield’s goals, leading by example on the offensive end against a disciplined opposing defense. In response to the roster challenges, freshman Richard Hammill and sophomore Jack Jozwick stepped up from the junior varsity squad to help fill key roles. The game marked just the second varsity appearance of their young careers, and both contributed valuable minutes under pressure. Defensively, the Lakers made strong adjustments after halftime. West Bloomfield tightened its approach and held L’Anse Creuse North to just three goals in the second half, showcasing grit, communication, and improved execution on that end of the field. Close defense; Ian Hamman, Nick Voorhees, and Zach Boisvenu. While the result was not what the team hoped for, the second-half defensive effort and contributions from emerging players reflect the group’s determination and depth. The Lakers will look to build on those adjustments as they continue to prepare for the next stretch of games.
