In a bounce back game from Monday's loss, the Lady Lakers got another league win against crosstown rival Farmington United 9-6 Wednesday night. The Lakers started off the first quarter strong and never gave up the lead the entire game. Senior captains Hannah Grubbs and Amelie Burtka led the team in scoring with 2 goals each. Seniors Julia Amato and Bryn Cusack scored once, and Cusack led the team in assists with 3. Junior Sydney Denawetz scored the final goal of the game and also added an assist. Grubbs and Denawetz also led the team in draw controls with 4 each. The Lakers core defense only allowed 13 shots on goal, and junior goalie Layla Kalanquin saved 7 of the shots faced. Defensive player of the game was junior Layla Sharif with 4 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers. The Lakers have some off days before traveling to Oxford for another OAA league match up on 4/29.
