The boys and girls track & field teams travelled to Berkley to take on Berkley HS and Groves HS in a double-dual meet on Wednesday, April 22nd. Both teams beat Berkley & Groves and are now 3-0 in league competition. Team scores: Boys vs. Berkley, 104-23 / Boys vs. Groves, 77-51 / Girls vs. Berkley, 86-36 / Girls vs. Groves, 76-52. The boys and girls teams had several outstanding performances. The boys were highlighted by sweeping the 800m run: Ethan Sherrod-Watkins (1st), Sebastian Roncier (2nd) & Michael Williams (3rd). While the girls were highlighted by sweeping the 200m dash: Ese Uwedjojevwe (1st), Lauryn Choice (2nd) & Mharei Sampson (3rd). Your “LAKERS OF THE MEET” are: Boys: Kam’Ryn Hall / Kam’Ryn placed first in the 200m dash with a new PB time of 22.91 and ran on the winning 800m relay team. Elijah Sherrod-Watkins / Elijah placed first in the 400m dash with a new PB time of 50.68 and ran on the winning 3200m relay & 1600m relay teams. Girls: Lauryn Choice / Lauryn placed second in the 200m dash with a new PB time of 26.84 and ran on the winning 800m relay & 1600m relay teams.
