Our next Senior Scholar Athlete Spotlight is on Trae Lewis. Trae competed on our Swim and Dive team at West Bloomfield High School and has been swimming competitively for 7 years as a backstroker and IM'er. A highly decorated swimmer, Trae has been a multiple time State Champion in USA Swim Events, Overall State Champ in 2026 and 2022, top 3 in 2021,2023, and 2024. He has been a multiple time National top ten, Junior national finalist, Sectional top 3, Michigan representative for Zone USA select camp, Zone winner in 5+ events. During his career at WBHS, Trae broke 4 records in his one year of swimming, took top three at states in both individuals and all american qualification in the 100 back and all state in the 200 IM. Had two league records, one All league record and various pool records across many high schools. Trae's favorite memory was working alongside one of his best friends Daniel Kim at practice and the many close relationships he built with his peers at West Bloomfield. He will be attending Oakland University next Fall while continuing his academic and swimming career. He plans to study business with future aspirations of a law degree. He will miss the constant laughter and waves made in the West Bloomfield pool made with those closest to him. Congratulations Trae! Go Lakers!!
