Senior Scholar Athlete Spotlight - Amyah Brown

By Eric Pierce | May 7, 2026 1:35 PM

Our next Senior Scholar Athlete Spotlight is on Amyah Brown. Amyah participated in varsity track and field, varsity sideline cheer, and varsity pom pom dance during her time at WBHS. Being a multi-sport student athlete allowed her to grow in multiple ways, build lasting friendships, and represent her school with pride across multiple teams. Throughout Amyah's experience, she developed strong teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills while balancing each sport. Competing and performing alongside her teammates created memories and increased her passion as the years went on. Some of her honors and awards include being a 2x Regional Champion and 2x State Qualifier in the 4x1 and 4x2 relays, a regional qualifier in the 100-meter dash, earning 8th place at pom pom competition, receiving the Track Scholar Athlete Award, and winning the Most Versatile Award for cheerleading. Amyah's favorite memory as a Laker was her first time qualifying for states and beating her personal bests in track, because it showed her growth, dedication, and the results of all the hard work she put in. Next year, Amyah will be attending Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, where she will be majoring in pre-nursing. What she will miss most about WBHS and athletics is the Friday night lights football games and performing at halftime while cheering on the crowd and the football team, because those moments brought so much energy, school spirit, and excitement. Congratulations Amyah! Go Lakers!!
