The West Bloomfield Girls Varsity Soccer team competed in a non-conference matchup on Thursday night, coming up just short in a 4–2 result against Shrine Catholic. Despite the outcome, the Lakers continued to show strong moments of play on both sides of the ball in a competitive road environment. West Bloomfield’s offense capitalized twice on well-executed set pieces. On both occasions, Sarina Khatchadourian delivered precise corner kicks, with Ellena Tomaj finishing clinically on each to convert from close range. While the result did not go in West Bloomfield’s favor, the team remained competitive throughout and continued to build on key moments of execution. The Lakers remain in first place in conference standings and will look to carry their conference momentum into the next matchup on Tuesday, 5/12 against Avondale.
