West Bloomfield Varsity Lady Lakers dropped the second game of Friday’s doubleheader to Berkley, 22-4, at West Bloomfield High School. Despite falling behind early, the Lakers continued competing offensively throughout the game. Joy Jones led West Bloomfield at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Anna Bilkey, Jones, and Nevaeh Nieradka each drove in runs for the Lakers. West Bloomfield also continued to pressure opponents aggressively on the bases, collecting four stolen bases in the contest, while again playing a clean defensive game without committing an error. Anna Bilkey led the Lakers defensively with three fielding chances as West Bloomfield continued to battle throughout the regular season finale. The Lakers now turn their attention toward next week’s continuation games against Ferndale before preparing for district tournament play.
