The West Bloomfield Girls Varsity Soccer team wrapped up conference play Monday evening in a 5–3 matchup against Avondale at home. Although the final score was not the outcome the Lakers were looking for, the team continued to compete and generate offensive opportunities throughout the game. Ellena Tomaj recorded the first goal for West Bloomfield to put the Lakers on the board early. Mharei added the second goal off an assist from Sarina Khatchadourian, while the third goal came after Mharei placed a shot on target and Ellena Tomaj finished the rebound opportunity. Despite not playing at their usual level consistently throughout the match, the Lakers continued to battle until the final whistle and showed flashes of the offensive chemistry and determination that have defined much of their season. West Bloomfield now turns its attention toward postseason play as the team prepares for districts.
