09/09/26 | Pressbox Story: WBHS Cross Country at OAA Blue Jamboree #1 The WBHS XC team hosted the OAA Blue Jamboree #1 meet on Wednesday, September 9th. The meet was held at Memorial Park and 8 schools participated. This meet was the first of three jamboree’s for the OAA blue division. The boys varsity team placed 1st overall, while the boys jv team placed 2nd overall. Leading the way in the varsity race was Musa Kay (3rd place), and leading the way in the jv race was Nathan Lorzeille (5th place). Overall boys highlights: 14, 2 mile goal times / 13 season PR’s & 5 career PR’s! The girls varsity team placed 3rd overall with 84 points. Ashleigh Hamby (11th place) was the first finisher for the Lakers. Overall girls highlights: 5, 2 mile goal times & 6 career PR’s! Your “Lakers of the Meet” are: BOYS DeJuan Oakley: DeJuan beat his 2 mile goal time and ran a “NEW” season pr. Beating his previous pr by 1 minute and 54 seconds. Anthony Craft Jr.: Anthony beat his 2 mile goal time and ran a “NEW” career pr. Beating his previous pr by 4 minutes and 14 seconds. GIRLS Zofia Burtka: Zofia beat her 2 mile goal time and ran a “NEW” career pr. Beating her previous pr by 3 minutes and 31 seconds.
