The Lakers fell to a tough Berkley squad on Tuesday afternoon, 9/15. The Bears were dominant in both singles and doubles, but the Lakers had opportunities in several matches and fought hard at all positions. Special matches were very close and the Lakers were on the verge of earning victories. Logan Glass and Donovan Padgett at #2 Doubles. Logan and Donovan took their opponents to a second set tiebreak. Freshman Nathan Nikolov had a very competitive match at #4 singles but fell 6-2, 6-4. The #3 Doubles team of Zev Gross and Parker Gnesin fell short in a three hour battle 7-6, 4-6, 4-6. The #5 Doubles team of freshmen Desdon Padgett and Griffin Mayrend's grit and competitiveness shone through as they took the second set 7-6 after falling 6-1 in the first set. They were defeated in the 3rd set tiebreak but put on a great performance. The Lakers look forward to their next match on Thursday 9/17 against Rochester. Coach Sacks
